Dr. Monique Jackson
Optometrist
Dr. Monique Jackson was born and raised in Southern Louisiana. She graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then earned her Doctorate of Optometry in 2015 from the University of Houston. While studying at the university, Dr. Jackson gained experience with several sub-specialties of optometry including pediatrics, ocular disease, contact lens fitting, and dry eye services. After graduating, Dr. Jackson worked alongside her mentor and colleague, Dr. Toni Harvey in Alexandria, Louisiana. Dr. Jackson and her husband then decided to return home to New Orleans where they have always dreamed of serving the local community by opening her very own practice.
As a licensed optometrist, Dr. Jackson demonstrates an extensive knowledge on diagnoses and treatments of all disorders that affect the eye or vision. In addition to training in eye diseases and disorders, Dr. Jackson is also trained in anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology. With this background, Dr. Jackson is trained to recognize a range of health issues; such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and hypertension.
Dr. Jackson works hard to stay current on the latest advances in eye health and vision care and regularly attends continuing education seminars and advanced training courses. It is because of Dr. Jackson’s dedication to continuing education that our New Orleans patients receive the most modern and progressive vision care available.
When Dr. Jackson is not studying the eye and providing health care to her patients, she enjoys an active lifestyle that involves traveling, boating, spending time with her friends and family, exercising, and entertaining her children.
